Conclusions and Recommendations
The goal of this project was to research, design, implement, and evaluate a non-trivial cross-platform program that reduces the polygon count of three-dimensional triangular meshes of all models in a scene. The program was to be released to the public as an open-source program, and be easily extensible to include other mesh-altering or mesh-utilizing algorithms and to import and export various data formats. Here we examine the work we have done and try to evaluate it against these criteria, showing that our goals were met and thus the project was completed successfully. We also make recommendations for future work to extend the project if there in any interest in doing so.
